This is absolutely revolting and repugnant. The things young men will do for social "fame"! ! The perps who egged him on should be charged and prosecuted more severely, at minimum being thrown out of this college with a black mark to follow them around - sadly, I know that each of them will "roll over" on their fellow brothers, saying it was so-and-so who was the main enthusiast or ringleader bla bla bla...nobody taking responsibility for their role proper.
Also sadly, I don't think hazing rituals will go away from campuses any time soon. A lot of the time, they are just spectacles for the perverse enjoyment of "senior brothers" who have already made up their mind as to whether somebody will be accepted or not, they give more lenient rituals for pledges who they've already looked upon favourably.
