The song that speaks to me the most, is Double Decker Bus by The Count Five. It reminds me of when it was still the days of the Routemasters and I really wanted to go to London.

What Ever (Satanic Surfers - Going Nowhere Fast) [punkrock/melodic hardcore]

"I have my opinions and I try to stick to them, call me childish if you want
But I guess the concept of that depends on who sets the norm
And if submitting to the expectations of our surrounding means growing up
I'll try wholeheartedly to refuse and I hope you're wrong, you say I'm acting like a kid and one day I'll grow out of it

There's clearly a difference on what we define as significant matters
But isn't it funny how everything that's important to me is trivial to you?
And it's hard not to notice when you express yourself so explicitly with harsh words and pleasantries to ridicule me
(Harsh words)
Harsh words
(Harsh words)
So many harsh words

I have my opinions and I try to stick to them, call me childish if you want
But I guess the concept of that depends on who sets the norm
And if submitting to the expectations of our surrounding means growing up
I'll try wholeheartedly to refuse and I hope you're wrong, you say I'm acting like a kid and one day I'll grow out of it

You can say whatever you might have to say 'bout me
But that doesn't mean that I have got to give a s**t"

If a song is speaking to you it means you're suffering from audible hallucinations or you’re somehow written into it.

Anyway, I guess this one: Under the Sun by Mars ILL

E: they've got the .mp3 on their website (marsill.com) if you can handle rap. *Daniel stares at CockneyRebel*

The Orange Lily, O!, an Ulster Protestant folksong about the orange lily. I like the tone of the song, that it suggests that like the lily we all shall have our day in the sun.

I don't really focus on lyrics a lot, but I often relate to music (including the voice as an instrument), as it sort of has the same "feel" as however I'm feeling (I think this is probably to do with the fact that I have synaesthesia, and associate song colours with mood colours). Two songs I find I can really relate to are "Doomsday" by Gackt:

and "Sanctuary" by Hikaru Utada (this isn't the official video obviously, but a rather cool AMV. :) It does contain Naruto spoilers though!):

When I'm really, really feeling down, 'Paint it Black' (Rolling Stones) and 'La Ballade de Jean Batailleur' (by some guy from Louisiana). But usually I don't notice the lyrics much/at all, just the sound.

Several songs remind me of various aspects of my life. I don't think I could pick one song that speaks to me the most, so here are the ones that mean the most to me and what they make me think of:

"Name" - Goo Goo Dolls: My life in general (minus the part about orphans).

"Superman" - Five For Fighting: My struggles.

"Wind Beneath My Wings" - Bette Midler: My relationship with my mom.

"Kiss From A Rose" - Seal: My alter ego.

"San Francisco" - Scott McKenzie: My imaginary world.

"Far Away" - Nickelback: My love interest.
