Do you consider animals more important than people?

I've read a couple threads on here and most people were saying they prefer animals to people. However, would you actually value an animal life higher than a human life?

Very rarely does an animal want to kill me. Animals either love you or they avoid you and maybe get defensive at times.

EDIT:
I would defend myself against either if needed... But I eat animals daily, I still value them.

If it came down to saving my partner from a burning house or my cat, the cat would be toast.

An animal life. Animals do not harbor any ill will towards another species, and generally mind there own business. All humans have done is f****d up the world for the rest of the animals. I do not feel nearly as much sympathy for a human then I do for an animal. I consider serial animal abusers to be worse than serial killers.
An exception would be for my family or my close friends.

i love animals, but for sure a human life is more important. even if he is a random stranger.
i'd sacrifice my dog to save a random stranger anytime.

I would save a human life 1st if the animal wasn't me or my girlfriend's pet.

I'd save my kids before pets,but if it was a person I didn't like, the pets win every time.
A good example,I can save Casey Anthony or a sea turtle.I'd save the turtle.A sea turtle is of more value.

it depends on which specific precious little "person" versus which particular animal.

last year a dog bit me. numerous dogs have chased at and barked at me. but, thus far, almost all the other animals completely ignored me.

plenty of precious lil "people" have bothered me. harassment. in numerous ways. with a lot of energy, creativity.

and they were successful at causing permanent damage.

but, everything being equal, would save the animal first.

I personally find dogs very important. When I hear things about dogs. I get more sad and emotional with them then humans. I can tell you that by the movies I cried while watching. I cried during only 3 movies and they all have dogs in them. My Dog Skip, Marley and Me, and A Dog's Purpose. Yeah that tells you something about me.

Well, if how I react to pet deaths in movies is any indicator, yes. Also I tend to feel more for creatures that cannot communicate in our language and thus tend to get treated unfairly simply because they are lower down on the totem pole.

I don't think an animal life is more important than a human life. Just equal.

I like animals, but I've also eaten many of them.

nowadays it's normal to see many people saying an animal life is more important than a human life and at the same time they enjoy eating animals everyday.

Generally it would depend on the species of non human animal and the person but in many cases I would probably veer towards the animal. Most non human animals don't have ill intentions and only kill for survival reasons.

We don't eat our own kind..just like a dog wouldn't eat another dog. It's just the idea of cannibalism is taboo and also illegal. Nothing to do with importance/value just being the same species is all.

Also personally I would never eat a dog or a dolphin (it saddens me that people fish for dolphins because dolphins are the most intelligent creatures) so when they say animals they probably mean the animals you don't eat in this culture.
