if you ever go its 15 dollars a person, children under 5 are free. there is no other price, i felt like i was being watched like a hawk by the meteor crater policia. i guess they remember me from last time, why with me looking at the ground a little too much and all. anyways they had some meterorites, (small ones) and way over priced. you dont even want to know, i did buy this cool coffee cup though. price 8.95$ 8O

I've never really looked but they say finding sharks teeth is easy in Texas as it was under an ocean at one time.

Nice teeth... Saw a crater of a different kind in France, created when a WW1 bomb hit. Really huge hole. Wasn't policed at all. I would hate being watched like that.

I saw a meteorite cut open and polished and it was one of the coolest things I have ever seen.....the inside looked like it had some really intricate patterns cut into it by an artist.....(hard to explain),but really interesting looking. When ever I go to Arizona to visit my parents I spend the whole time wondering in the desert looking for.....?I did find a small rock that I thought might be meteorite because it as so heavy and dense......some kind of metal,I wish I could get it cut open or have it looked at by a professional.

My 3 & 5 year old nephews have metal detectors and we go treasure hunting some times. We have come a cross a rock that was very magnetic. Iron ore is very common in my area and its not magnetic enough to trigger the metal detector unless its massively large. So its remotely possible its a meteorite. But it could just be 100 year old rusty tool. :) The real test would be isotopic variations in the Iron. If it did not originate on Earth it likely would have different ratios. Which mean to lay person the atomic mass you
read on your periodic table only applies to Earth for all elements with multiply natural isotopes that number will vary form place to place in the universe some.

Nice meterite.Have you considered having it cut open and "etched?".....would make an awesome piece of jewelry.... :D Maybe I will rent a metal detector next time I go to Arizona. There is a lot of new construction where my folks live and so there might be new things buried.I hear if it wasn't for our weather erosion and all our water, earth would look just as pitted as the moons surface. The moon must have a lot of meteorites just laying around... :D

i have but i really dont want to, i need to keep as much of this baby whole as possible. i have thought about scrubbing it with a wire brush though so it looks silver. i think you can still go into canyon diablo and find some meterorites, now those guys are going to have desert patina on them, (there going to look red) but you can still find them with the metal detector. goodluck!
