I needed to put my car up on ramps this afternoon to be able to access the horn that has stopped working.

So I lined the steel ramps up in front of each of the front wheels and got into the car ready to drive up the ramps, like I've done many times over the decades, but today I drove the car up the ramps.......and straight over and off the back of the ramps! BANG!

The car dropped down to the ground, ramps trapped beneath the chassis, me feeling a bit startled inside.

What an idiot.

Anyway, I freed the ramps from under the car and then drove back up onto them properly. After a quick inspection there seems to be no damage done. Phew!

But I repeat - What an idiot!

I don't think anybody noticed, because that would've been embarrassing. Though there were half a dozen people sitting in the beer garden opposite, so maybe they heard the bang.

I'm glad there was no damage.
