i haven't done it in an awful long time, and it appears that noone around me with whom i have memories of going fishing has done it recently, either.

maybe they're all dead. (the fish).

i went on a couple occasions, on all day trips out onto the santa barbara channel on a fishing boat with my father and some of his friends and relatives when i was younger. i never partook in the hunt myself, but often i was asked to pose in pictures with the catches, asked to hold the fish by the gills which i adamantly refused to do. (they compromised with a towel).

the channel islands were beautiful up close, a sight that i never got to see otherwise.

my uncle and i used to go fishing at the local lake, back when there was a respectable amount of water there.

I did at one time. Then I realized I'm hurting these fish for really no good reason.

No. I think it's cruel to hook a fish in the mouth and drag it out of the water. If I fished, it would be out of necessity, and I would prefer to use a hand held net if possible.

I put the fish back in the water after I catch them.

Oh goodness, no! I don't even like to eat fish let alone catch them and watch them flopping around as they slowly suffocate, and then get their heads lopped off and their guts taken out. :eew:

I don't mind if other people like fishing, though. My dad caught fish for a living for years and he still occasionally does it for a hobby.

Yes. It's very relaxing. I haven't been fishing in years.

Yes.

I kill them as quick as I can, and then take them home for food.

you're supposed to kill them quickly BEFORE they get a chance to flop around and suffocate....duh.

otherwise you risk ruining the meat, scared and stressed out animals taste bad.

no. becayse i simply can survive without killing fish to eat them, let alone killing/torturing them for fun just
to fulfill ill joydesires.

if a lion attacked you then it would be fair enough??

at least the lion kills to survive because the lion has no choice, but we do.

decreasingly few, but some people still depend on fishing for their sustenance and may not afford to do it out of pure joy.

if a lion attacked me, it may be out of self defense, or it may not be. i could have done something to provoke it.

if you r "having fun" killing the fish that can't defend itself only because you are bigger and stronger, i wouldn't sympathize if a lion attacked you.
