I failed swimming lessons several years in a row as a kid, and only learned how to swim the length of the pool with private lessons when I was about 10 or 11. I still have trouble with forward movement while swimming and am really really slow, but I'm not afraid of drowning as I float really easily and literally can't sink, even if I really want to swim to the bottom of the pool.

I can't swim and I've never taken swimming lessons, because they're expensive and my parents couldn't afford it :/
I'll take them once I have the money and time for it. :)

I can swim underwater, but can't reliably do any other strokes, other than dog-paddle (or rather, mostly just kick wildly to stay afloat).

I took swimming lessons as a kid & I was the worst in my class. I haven't swam much sense then so I'm sure I forgot some of what I learned.

I can swim. I haven't for several years thanks to being trans but I hope soon to be able to again ! I can do breaststroke and backstroke, as well as general dog paddle, but none of them "correctly" aka I don't do that correct stoke with breaststroke where you dip your whole head underwater every stroke.
But man swimming lessons was hell.

I can swim, my dad taught me when I was really young.

I really can't remember not being able to swim. I absolutely loved it as a kid. But I didn't even get to go even once this summer. :(

I got taught to tread water in swimming lessons when I was about eight. And I can do back stroke and breast stroke. But I rarely go swimming now because I have bad eyesight.

I learned to swim long ago. But not before almost drowning, I'm told.
