I know a couple of people who have owned the same cat for several years, then they decide to get a rather obnoxious dog, and the cat suddenly gets rather rejected because all the attention is taken up by the dog. The cat feels threatened by the dog, and spends the rest of it's life having to avoid the dog, in it's own home, and the humans don't care to train the dog to get along with the cat.
Do you think this is fair on cats, especially older cats having to accept a young dog into a place that's been the cat's home for years. I don't think it's fair.
Agreed. That's grossly inconsiderate to the cat, which loses its safety in its lifetime home, and loses the attention of the people.
