Hills/Ames store

What are your memories of Hills/Ames, the defunct department store. My Hills used to stand in a plaza where a telemarketing company now stands. Then it actually moved up by a local mall, until it turned into Ames at the last minute. The Hills in our area closed for good in July 1999.

I don't remember a lot (I was only 7 1/2), but I do vaguely remember getting icee drinks and the snack stand in the front of the stores.
