The decade ones are good, but it seems like a new thread on "comes to mind" is popping up about everything, and it just gets boring.

I don't suppose the mods can put a ban on these for a while? Pleeeeeease? As in no more "first thing that comes to mind" for a specified period of time, or only a certain number?
I"m really going to have to stop reading "Random Discussion" and that's a shame.
... although, not much of one if all it's going to turn into is an endless "first thing that comes to mind" on every subject known to humankind.

it’s a trend. last three letters of that word should tell you what happens to all trends.

to be honest i much prefer this to the moaning and self-loathing of L&D and the often astonishingly narrow viewpoints i see in the debate-oriented forums, but i agree they’re better off in off the wall, now.

i’ll move some there when i get the chance. (but now i must slep)

Well said.

Like I said, the decade ones were fun because it's like a nostalgic discussion, but when ones pop up like for example "first thing what comes to mind when you think of bananas" there's only so much you can actually say about bananas.

That I really enjoy those threads (even though I don't always have lots to post in them), and I always enjoy reading the responses in them

That some were really fun because I was really interested or knew a bit about the topic, while others were really boring and not worth my time. Seriously, a First Thing about Best Buy?
