Should I retry to get myself issued an electric qheelcgaue, to get around that way, instead of walking on a crutch, where I have some resistance /pain due to my CHF  , and my water weight-bloated :( body gets fatigued? I'm always being asked in the strewmet; when I lean against a walk for rest, " Are you alright? ". I say I am, but I'm not, very  . Perhaps a wheelchair would get me a recognized " crippled " status, and perhaps a place - I've been thus way since mid-2015 - Perhaps it wouldn't t, however, and it might sure be a turn I can't' reverse, and basically cut down on my mobility. :( . I'm sill relatively young ...

My instant reaction: go for it. I know you're worried about reducing your mobility, but you have CHF, and it may help that.

My reaction after thinking for a few moments: go for it. Also talk to your caseworker (do you have one?) and see what they think about your chances. I don't know if you have SSDI or not - if not, you sure seem qualified (that is not a criticism! How you describe your difficulty moving around breaks my heart!) and it could be worth applying for the SSDI. If you DO already have SSDI, would that help you get a wheelchair?

Glad to see you posting today. I am worried about WP folks in CA, looked up a map of the wildfires. Oh guys. I'm so sorry.

Electric wheelchairs are very expensive and take about 6 hours to recharge. I know this because I had a cousin with MD who had one. How would you afford it and where would you recharge it? Also, if you are living in a shelter, or even if you are not, where would you put it when not in use? They are bulky, unwieldy, and very, very heavy.

You might be better served by a conventional wheelchair.

...Thank you. I do get SSDI. After becoming CHF'd in 2015; I could not so readily lie down in the grass in the park , and having a chair might make it harder still :(; you can hardly get out then & there & lie beside it :|.

strangers on the internet do not know if you want or need a wheelchair

strangers on the internet do not have that authority

strangers on the internet are not paying for or pushing your wheelchair

so, only you can decide whether to get a wheelchair

having a wheelchair could be necessary or beneficial medically

having a wheelchair might make it easier for you to get lazy, and that could be bad

I would say a wheelchair would be quite useful for him.
