I hadn't watched this episode for years, but I watched it the other day and I suddenly realised, does this episode have like a hidden joke about periods? Stan's Aunt Flo visits his family once a month, and some people use "Aunt Flo" as slang-type thing for periods, and it hints that Stan's mum gets bitchy when Aunt Flo visits, relating to the way women get grouchy when on their period. And then when Aunt Flo gets killed by the fish, Stan's mum feels downhearted and Randy says "don't think of it as an end, think of it as a new beginning", and I've heard women try to look at the menopause that way.

I can't believe I never thought of this episode that way before.

I just vaguely remember that episode, it has to be almost 20 years old by now...that episode itself is halfway to menopause...

I think it’s about 15/16 years old. You got the joke right, the early series are quite funny IMO.

I also like Mr Garrison’s: “I just don’t trust anything that bleeds for 5 days and doesn’t die”.

That part was pretty funny.
