I've been posting my innermost thoughts and feelings to my public blog. Not just personal information but intimate issues as well. I used to be much more in keeping with anonymity but these days I don't see what the problem really is, I mean if people are going to read my blog - what's the worst that could happen?
I'm a survivor and since I haven't had any support (only recently talking about it with a professional), so that by writing it out, I'm able to come to terms with things better. The communication might be one way but I like to think of it as though I have a really good listener who cares about what I'm dealing with, and might offer some advice or show support.
I have a four month wait until I can start seeing a counsellor at CASA. That's the center against sexual assualt, and so in the mean time, I'm looking for ways to work through my deep seated problems. So let me ask you what you think of me posting about my stress and revelations I'm having in my struggle for self improvement?

I think it's up to you.
If you're okay with making personal details public & can deal with any poetntial fallout from that (including trolls/negative responses), and writing these things is therapeutic & beneficial for your health and well being, then have at it to your heart's content.

Am I the only one who thinks it's strange that people are posting their most personal thoughts in a blog and get ticked off if no one reads it, when it wasn't that long ago people wrote their most personal thoughts in a diary or journal and got ticked if somebody *did* read it?

Thanks for your replies, goldfish21, and lostonearth35! I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I was told that my biggest concern should be trolls posting nasty comments and the like, but after explaining to my counselor, that I have experience as a moderator, and admin, and am quite familiar with trolling behaviour, I expect that I can cope well enough - and she told me that I might regret posting such things in the future (as peoples values and opinions can change).
With this in mind, I supposed, that my brutal honestly isn't going away and that I like the freedom of expression which blogging provides, and that I'd rather be myself. She was supportive.
I think it's funny how times have changed. You're right that a diary is supposed to be personal, and I have been *very* angry in the past when my personal diary has been read by my mother. Some people in my life read my blog which disturbed me in the earlier stages of blogging, but not so much now.
I have been posting my prison writing/diary to my blog. In that I'm incoherent, and blabber on about spirituality and religion, and my personal issues surrounding my sexuality (as I wasn't ready to deal with my abuse at the time, and had a complex issue regarding it).
I don't get mad or upset by any lack of traffic on there, as I'm writing it for myself - mainly. I find that writing things out helps. And it especially helps for me, because I don't have a parent who is willing to talk about thoughts and feelings, and so need the outlet.

Very True.
The idea of “personal” thoughts and lives is quaint in this selfie era.
