Do these kids wish to harm themselves? It's so stupid.

At this point, I don't even bother questioning where these stupid trends come from. All I hope is that "Darwinism" takes care of them before their ineptitude ends up harming someone else. Or they hopefully smarten up somehow.

Wake me up when this current wave of extreme stupidity is over. Although it will probably just be replaced by something else that's stupid.

I had to check the link to see what Tide Pod was.

I'm not surprised. When I was a kid, a thing was to breathe in deeply and get punched in the stomach trying to faint. Another thing was opening a bottle of chlorine and smell it.

And the result will no doubt be even more hysteria about normal household items just because dumb kids decide to do things they know are dangerous

What's going to be next? The Feces Challenge?

Just put "Contains GMOs and gluten" on all the containers, that way nobody will eat them.

Maybe add lactose and nuts too!

In the UK, Persil are running an ad campaign warning parents to store liquitabs safely because several kids have eaten them.

The warnings are unambiguous. Do these people want to remove themselves from the gene pool or something?

I say let evolution take it’s course. If they’re stupid enough to swallow this stuff, then they deserve to die!

Ditto for those who abuse opioids.

^ Quite frankly, I can't say I disagree, Meistersinger. If anyone is old enough to know it's dangerous and still fall for a dare to eat it, then that is natural selection in practice.

And what is to say everyone dared or encouraged to do this, is old enough and/or has the mental capacity to understand the danger? Just throwing that out there. I still recall that dangerous thing going around encouraging kids to make their own crystals by mixing bleach and ammonia and blowing on it with a straw...

Maybe wilst these kinds of things are stupid for anyone who knows better, its best not to post it online as a DYI project or 'challenge'.

I can understand a small child putting a tide pod in their mouth accidentally thinking it is candy. Teenagers? They should know better than to put one of those things in their mouth.

The Cinnamon challenge comes to mind.

I know it sounds crazy, but sometimes I wonder if there really is a terrible, contagious unknown disease that is making people more and more stupid, because I really can't find a logical explanation for this. Of course, other people can point the finger at the internet and junk, but if people were smart they'd know that laundry detergent is only for washing clothes, and only small children would need to be told they're not candy.

I know we all say and do dumb things sometimes, but it's scary whenever I do dumb things because I don't always know if it was just a harmless mistake that I'll learn from and try not to do again, or if I have the "stupidity disease" in its early stages. It's like when you forget something and can't tell if it's normal forgetfulness or an early sign of dementia.
