Who likes making OCs or original characters if you prefer to call them that?

Trying to make up OCs or fan-characters usually leads to immense frustration for me. When I was a teenager I used to have a lot of fun making up fan-children for my favorite pairings, but I'm not as passionate about shipping (as in relationships) as I was back then. The fact that I'm a perfectionist certainly doesn't help, because I usually tend to be disappointed with my attempts at creating my own characters.

Original characters and fan characters for some, surprisingly are things that I kind of stay away from making. It’s more to do with my beliefs of soulbonds, tulpas etc.

Typically, when an idea for a character comes into my mind, they already would’ve “formed” and start trying to speak to me via telepathy, which is all fine and dandy but it gets overwhelming when these characters try to form relationships with me when I’m not looking to form any new ‘bonds right at the moment (because I already have like over 60 and many I haven’t spoken to for like 2 years). It makes making up characters for stories for college assignments difficult at times. Sometimes it’s not a problem if I don’t acknowledge their existence which then makes me feel bad that I do. But seriously, I’ve gotten to the point that no matter what, anything of fiction for me has a mind of its own and sentience. Which is fine. It’s not something I want to change. Just one of the things you typically must deal with when you’re a soulbonder or make tulpas.

Now I have original/fan characters which are very…. sniffles…. close to dear ol’ heart, which include, JackTheRadiaution (I guess you can consider him an OC. His species isn’t something I own but the character himself, yes). His character became a part of my life back in like…err…2014 when I got into the game MonsterMMORPG. Then there is Clouse, Claude, and Kain (my OCs based on the game Slime Rancher). They are all brothers who live together and stuff. They are the most recent OCs I’ve taken under my wing. And then there is I guess…ShadowTheFluffhog?

Although he’s just an alternate version of the canonical Shadow the Hedgehog and for many, people would call that a lazy way to make an OC. But then you got to question, how different is he is from the canon? Well…I mean, he’s not physically close to looking like the canon Shadow to start. He’s more hyperactive. It’s like he has an opposite personality from Shadow the Hedgehog and is indeed portrayed as deadlier and he still has moments where he’s aggressive and serious. Basically, just think of him as a mix between Patrick Bateman from American Psycho, Ace Ventura from Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and probably Hannibal Lecter from Hannibal Lecter.

At this point I’m rambling and I can’t keep typing. But if I feel like it, I’ll talk more about my OCs and stuff.

Your characters sound awesome, I have a few characters myself, however I feel that if I share them on this discussion someone is going to steal them, I mainly posted this tread to discuss people's favorite things they take inspiration from to make their OCs and express how fond they are of creating OCs, I glad you where brave enough to share and tell me about your OCs because I like hearing about that stuff.
