"void"?????

The noun "void" means an empty space, a nothingness.

Or it can be a verb. Like to "void" a sale you just made at the cash register. Make something "null and void".

If it's used like, "This will void your warranty" it means you will not be able to claim warranty.

It would be good if you could give some context.
How was the word used?

Also means to go to the bathroom.

As a verb; "to void" usually means to empty your bladder.

And means "not valid" as in "void where prohibited" - some advertised deals are not legal in all 50 states, for instance.

hope this helps

Writing Void on a check you do not want used has been standard practice in the past. Today you ought to shred it either with your fingers into teeny tiny bits or in a cross cut shredding machine. People today are able to lift ink off of checks and reuse them so totally destroying the document is safer.

How do people lift ink? I tore them up & separate the pieces of the checks.

I don't know but I've seen it done. They dip the check in some fluid and then dry it good as new. If you tore it in tiny bits you can feel safe. Only the CIA takes the time to put that kind of stuff back together and I don't think you are on their agenda.

To void means to empty your bladder or bowels. It's also a word that can be on a cheque.
