I think they should. Most open inward. That is not good.

Why is it not good?

You have to touch a door on the way out after washing your hands. With a door that opens outward you can kick it open with your foot.

... and hit people in the face who are trying to come in?

Best door is no door, just an entryway with a dogleg bend to assure privacy, and individual stalls in both bathrooms regardless of gender. Some airports (and turnpike rest stops) use that design, with a pull-down security grille for when the place is closed.

Yeah , I have that dilemma  I don't have OCD traits , honestly  ( I use my pinky or pull my sleeve down )

Technically the handle is only touched by people who have washed their hands - yeah right

*Just thinking about how many johnsons I may have indirectly touched *

It does not matter as long as there is a trash bin next to the door. That way you can open the door with the towel you dried your hands with, and be able to throw the towel away.

ALL toilet doors should open outwards, and not because of germs.
If someone collapses in a toilet and the door opens inwards, you can't get them out easily because the door pushes in on them.

Playing Devils advocate here and trying to piss you off like every other person I talk to.

If the doors open outwards and there is a fire and Britte walks past but passes out from smoke inhalation , she will block your exit and you will burn in hell forever  Mmmwaaaaaaaa

Yes, but if someone collapses outside, you can still push them away with an outward opening door.
If it were inward opening, I may trip over them on the way out, crack my head open and still end up burning in hell.

No problem, since I have my trusty Leatherman Multitool.
Oops, dropped it in the toilet.
Damn, can't retrieve it because of the germs.

I'm doomed. 8O

I try to avoid public restrooms entirely, but it is sometimes unavoidable. My worst dreams involve public restrooms. Which way the door opens is really the least of my worries. Sometimes people don't flush the toilet, trash is all over the floor and it stinks!
