Does hand sanitizers really works when you out? I been using it when I’m out, I don’t like touching germs & very dusty things, I wish you can wash money too. I also want to buy wet wipes for doing laundry, the laundry room is in my apartment building, I don’t want to touch the door knob, i hated when I get clean clothes on the floor.

Here is a bit of reality for you, nothing is clear of bacteria. While it is true that bacteria die off with time, some can remain on surfaces for weeks (Fomites). There is even bacteria right now in your gut, but they are good bacteria. Also, it requires a specific amount of bacteria to give you an infection, or they need to be able to masquerade themselves from the immune system to be able to grow.

Germs are everywhere, including on your body right now. Some are even airborne, like floating around after someone has sneezed in public transportation or even can be delivered as aerosols. Some that exists as fungus can morph into spores and be transported far away, halfway around the world.

Scared yet? Good, learn to overcome it. Or spend the rest of your life in a gas mask and a Hasmat suit.

As for money, get a debit card and wash that.

I love Hand sanitizers and it is not a good thing. Whenever I go to school and see one I rub it all over my hands. And then rub the moist dead skin of my hand into balls mixed with the sanitizer before eating them. It is real bad!

If you mean that alcohol-based stuff, I don’t know how good it is at killing bacteria, but one thing is clear: if you don’t wipe your hands with something or rinse them with running water, whatever non-volatile filth you had on your hands will stay on your hands after the alcohol evaporates. It may be sterilized filth, but it’s still filth.

That stuff is just bad.

Good old soap and water is safe, effective and doesn't contribute to multi-resistant bacteria development.

If I want dry, cracked skin on my hands then I will use a hand sanitizer because, that is what happens if I use that stuff.

I am not sure that level of sanitizing is healthy either, if you don't have some exposure to germs in the environment then you can get sick easier when you are exposed.

I understand very well that you don't wanna touch dirty disgusting doorknobs. I tend to use my elbow to open icky doors and then make sure not to touch my clothes at that point until they're washed.

You might also consider gloves (winter or rubber ones).

One of the reasons I never use them is cuz I dislike the smell. I also don't like the feel of it on my hand. I take vitamin C supplements & hardly ever get sick even thou I touch lots of things when I'm out & hardly wash my hands while out. Only times I've gotten sick since I moved here over 5 years ago is cuz my girlfriend got sick or I got food poisoning. I take half a gram of extended release C 3x a day with each meal. Ther's also some C in my multi-vitamin & my cereal.
