How much do you need to brush your cat?

I'm guessing once a day. I've never owned a cat.

It really depends on the cat, if its a long haired cat then you'd probably need to brush them more than a short hair cat. Also if it gets cold in the winter where you live they will grow a thicker coat in the winter which causes a lot of shedding when the weather gets warmer.

A lot of cats don't really need to be brushed but they still like it, and it helps get rid of lose hairs so they don't end up all over your furniture, though no way to avoid having at least some cat hair since they like to rub on every surface they can.

Long haired cats need to be groomed often enough such that their fur doesn't mat. Medium cats typically only need to be brushed/combed as needed and short hair cats, typically not at all, but a lot of cats like to be brushed/combed. My cats were medium haired and I would brush/comb them when their fur looked like it could use it or when the weather started getting hot to help them get rid of the shedded fur that was trapped in their coat.

Be aware that poor coat condition can be a sign of an underlying illness. If the fur starts to look clumpy or dull it could be a sign of dehydration and kidney problems. That was the case with two of my cats.

Thanks,I think my cat fur is ok, I’m giving her can food that said it great for fur & the food is chicken & tuna in gravy, the gravy is for dehydration & I think something else, my cat LOVES the food. I think her hair is medium, she is shedding alot, she been sleeping in my lap & I get alot of her hair on me. I need to buy a brush for her.
