i wonder why it is not possible to delete one's profile? a feature i feel could be added if people want to leave and not leave digital footprints.

People should really put some thought into joining a social website before they actually join one.

true but people also change their mind. I think it's fair to give users more power over their data production so that they may delete it if they feel the need. You can edit things at least.

Yeah, but wouldn't all your posts still be up on any threads you responded to? It would probably be way too difficult and awkward to try to actually erase everything, the responses of people after you might not make sense. The profile itself is only a very small part of the footprint.

Yeah, well, it was worth a try. Sometimes by going all reducto ad absurdium, one can illuminate the ridiculous nature of a previous statement. Sometimes it goes too far, and sometimes it doesn't go far enough. Maybe next time...
