I did dig Elton, but since we were happily married I felt confident to explore other musicians too. :P
My big brother played a lot of Jethro Tull and also the No No Song by Ringo. I loved both and was a little obsessed.
My Elton-only stage began when I was closer to 7.

My lie is actually 1. My leopard was named Leonard, not Lawrence.

You were one smart 6-year-old...

Jethro Tull is one that only teens and adults usually appreciate. Very Celtic and medieval in their overall substance.

Too bad the schmucks didn’t embrace your gifts.

Thanks korts
The shmucks were indeed shmucks. Only one of them had a clue who I really was inside.

1. My brother had a dirt bike.

2. My cousins who lived next door (0-5) were all adopted.

3. I played in a creek full of turtles.

The creek was actually very ducky.

Sorry Quacky, but the creek wasn't ducky! It was turtley!

The ducks were at a river near our house, and also in the areas we went boating.

My lie is 2. I did have three cousins next door. The older two were adopted and a little older than I was so I didn't spend time with them, but the third was my aunt's natural child and closer to my age. We played with him quite a bit. He and my brother remained really good friends for many years.

I have many aunts and uncles, but among them:

1. Edward was terrified of cats.

2. Lucy is extremely religious.

3. Catherine is reclusive.

4. Susie was a flower child.

Nope. Three strikes for you today kortie! 8O

My lie is #1. He was terrified of mice.

1. Frank looked like Barry Manilow.

2. J.R. looked like Kris Kristofferson.

3. Martin looked like Elvis.

Bingo!

I don't have an Uncle Martin, just a cousin Martin who looks nothing like Elvis.

Here I go trying double negatives (not my strong suit):

1. I do not have a public library card, because of a confusion when I changed my name.

2. I do not have a collection of pop-up books.

3. I do have the micro-tiny books I wrote and stitched together as a child.

No "double-negatives" here.

Your lie is #1.

The negatives become double negatives in my mind when I try to evaluate whether or not they're false.
That's really confusing for me.

1 is true. I don't have a public library card in the past couple of years for that reason. I use one belonging to a friend and will get mine sorted sometime soon. I don't go to the public library often because I usually buy my books, so it's not an inconvenience yet.

My lie is 2. I have about five pop-up books. My favourite is Thumbelina.

I should have known that! You're really into pop-up books!

1. My father had to come from New Jersey to pick me up in Times Square while I was trying to run away from home.

2. I once tried to run away by swimming across Jamaica Bay.

3. I used to commute to school on 1940's trains in the 1970s. They had fans for summer, rather than air-conditioners. Their heat was questionable, too.

1. I got a basketball for my tenth birthday because I thought I should want one.

2. I had a pink and purple skateboard that I used a few times.

3. I had a bright blue skipping rope.

4. I had steel roller skates when I was really little, and also a pair of bob skates.

one lie

I'm thinking #1...…

Yep. #2 is my lie. I used to hang out by Jamaica Bay when I was lonely, though.
