I just blew up the kitchen. Love and/or like be damned, isn't there somebody out there who will be my roomie and save me? All those homeless people - isn't there a nice, quiet aspie who will make sure I don't end up in a residence, like my Mom, who also blew up her kitchen? That would mean ordinary daily chores and it would be ideal if we have anything in common, like reading. But not if you've got anybody following you around, like the police or a stalker.

Really, I'm not kidding. All those people with no roof, there must be a roomie somewhere!

I just blew up the kitchen. I thought that was obvious. I'm a little old lady. My mother blew up her kitchen too - oh, not that - she burned it down.

That sort of behaviour is taken in my family as "They're coming to take you way, ha-ha."

It's an event feared and dreaded in the old age of many people (I'm 67). It's proof that you are dangerous and can't even be trusted with a pot.

What Mom did (in very old age) was make a cup of coffee:
Step 1 - Fill automatic kettle with water.
Step 2 - Plug kettle into wall.
Step 3 - Also plug kettle into stove, at the same time.
Step 4 - Fall asleep.

What I did was make macaroni.
Step 1 - Fill pot with water.
Step 2 - Put it on the wrong burner.
Step 3 - Hear huge glass bowl (on the right burner) explode. Flying glass everywhere.

I've done s**t like that lots of time , I nearly made a post about turning on the wrong hob 80% of the time and asking if anyone else did it  , You only get a little picture to go on and for some reason I struggle . i remember a post a while back where someone got grief off their grandpa because the dials were not logical so when they turned on what they thought was logically right , it wasn't.

I feel traumatised when my mum put eggs on to boil then went to bed , I got in from work , sat down and was chilling and it sounded like a bomb went off in the kitchen - it scared the bejesus out of me , I couldn't talk properly for a short time afterwards .

^ I just looked at that cooker picture closer and it makes sense while my one doesn't  I must have learnt on a stove that has the hobs going in a clockwise direction.

What I would do is clean up the glass and be more careful next time.

Affirmative - you are not the only one!

My "favourite" is getting mixed up what I have in my hands and the places they belong. Many times, I have put my food in the cleaning cupboard and then baked myself something very strange in the oven to have for tea (e.g. roll of plastic bin liners, box of washing powder...)

you blew up a glass bowl, not a kitchen. so, no, it wasn't that obvious sorry.

a lot of people here are very literal thinkers and i'm one of them. you had me thinking that you planted an actual bomb in your kitchen and it went off, completely obliterating the room, ruining the house and leaving a gaping hole, causing many thousands of dollars in damage as terrorists do.

i was wondering how you got away with it. i thought you may have been posting this from jail. (WP in jail?)

oops.

anyway, i've never done that. but i have burned far more food than i'd like to admit.

I'm quite a literal thinker at times but it didn't occur to me that the OP had actually blew up their kitchen , I find it weird how some things I take literal and some things I don't - I wonder why that is ?

That's what I did, being extra-careful because of cat's paws. Then I went to bed and made the macaroni hours later.
I'm very discouraged.

Aha. Burnt food. Starting small. I've been burning food for years. Maybe I sort of worked up to bursting bowls. It was the biggest, most traditional - it was Mom's lasagna bowl. It's enough to make me want to move to a place with counter space.

I’m sorry this happened to your mother’s lasagna bowl.

I know what you mean. My kitchen counter space sucks, too.

I believe you really could use a hug.

From my standpoint, you’re still sexy, even if you’re clumsy :P

I have yet to cook something I shouldn't of ( except my brain with drugs :jester: )
