I don't look at the keyboard when I type, but if my eyes are open, I can see if I've made a mistake and immediately correct it.

I can do it if I focus really hard, but not for long. I can do it longer when using QWERTY, since I've been using that much longer than Dvorak. I typed that sentence with a Dvorak layout.
