So I got me thinking and theorising. And I often ponder the way we behave as a human species. One of those behaviours is the act of being shallow. IE, an instinctive ability to favour a person we perceive as pleasing to the eye. Being shallow is looked down upon, with good reason. However, I'm also learning to believe that being shallow is a natural human trait. I don't believe there is anyone out there who isn't shallow even in the slightest. We are all shallow to a certain degree.
Now, I was also thinking very recently about confidence and health. And it makes sense to me that people who eat better and look after themselves appear more confident. I have been behaving myself exceptionally well the past three weeks and have been sticking to a healthy diet. And yes, I have noticed my back straighter when i walk, my posture overall is a little better, i feel a little happier and an improvement to my forward thinking. This may not be related to my new diet, but it is an observation that I have picked up on lately since i started this new diet. And thinking about it, the kind of people you see with chiselled jaw lines, sculptured cheekbones, toned muscles... these people are confident, they swim in it! And you don't get those looks without a good diet. My frequent visits to bored panda and the increasing amount of 'before and after' posts where people have transformed themselves from unhealthy, run down individuals to temple bodied visions of beauty don't lie. The key here to confidence is with healthy eating and excersize!
So now lets go back to natural selection. Why are people shallow? Because just like any other species in the animal kingdom, we are wired to select a healthy mate to breed with because healthy is vital to the continuation of the human race.
So, if you plan on breeding, go be shallow! lol
