Which fantasy creature would you want to be?

Hi all. I just thought up a good potential question for Random Discussion.

If you could be any sort of fantasy creature, which one would you be?

I would want to be a treefolk/ent/treant. These are different names for the same basic creature.

Reasons Why:

- Treefolk are often as huge as giants. They are often stronger and more durable than giants because they are made of wood.
- I don't see why treefolk are weak against fire in some stories. In real life, humans are killed by fire more easily than trees are. Some trees even use need fire to spread their seeds. The stories that make treefolk weak against fire make no sense, and can be disregarded.
- In addition to being stronger than giants, treefolk are typically wiser and smarter than giants. In nearly all fantasy fiction, the giants are big dumb brutes, whereas the treefolk are giant wise men.
- Treefolk don't need to eat. They can rely on photosynthesis when food becomes scarce.
- Treefolk can live for 5,000 years or more.
- They protect the environment.
- They learned how to cast spells from Gaia herself.

Something with all the powers of superman combined with the abilities of shape-shifting, invisibly and time travel.

I would have wanted to be a shapeshifter. So I could take the form of any creature.
I hope it would also come with the power of having the same type of mind as the animal so I would know what it would be like to actually be one, and that I could remember it once I turned human again. That would help me understand animals and maybe I could work as a true animal whisperer, improving the lives if animals.

I also like the idea of being a Phoenix. Live my life, dramatically go up in flames (which I have to assume won't bother the creature) and be born again from the ashes.

I know it sounds silly and stereotypical, but I'd want to be either a fairy or a mermaid. Why wouldn't I when they are usually shown as being beautiful and graceful? Mermaids and fairies are awesome!

Of course, being a shapeshifter would be pretty awesome, too. But then people would probably tell me I should be happy being my original form instead of changing all the time. Easy to say when you're a human who doesn't have the power to change at will so easily.
