Germany is a very beautiful country. It's the green and brown to Britain's grey and red. It has a dark past but it's thriving today. I have a dark past and I'm thriving today.

It's the country that the hippies got their ideas from in the Mid-late 60s.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippie

The first signs of modern "proto-hippies" emerged in fin de siècle Europe. Between 1896 and 1908, a German youth movement arose as a countercultural reaction to the organized social and cultural clubs that centered around German folk music. Known as Der Wandervogel ("wandering bird"), the hippie movement opposed the formality of traditional German clubs, instead emphasizing amateur music and singing, creative dress, and communal outings involving hiking and camping.[21] Inspired by the works of Friedrich Nietzsche, Goethe, Hermann Hesse, and Eduard Baltzer, Wandervogel attracted thousands of young Germans who rejected the rapid trend toward urbanization and yearned for the pagan, back-to-nature spiritual life of their ancestors.[22] During the first several decades of the 20th century, Germans settled around the United States, bringing the values of the Wandervogel with them. Some opened the first health food stores, and many moved to southern California where they could practice an alternative lifestyle in a warm climate. Over time, young Americans adopted the beliefs and practices of the new immigrants. One group, called the "Nature Boys", took to the California desert and raised organic food, espousing a back-to-nature lifestyle like the Wandervogel.[23] Songwriter eden ahbez wrote a hit song called Nature Boy inspired by Robert Bootzin (Gypsy Boots), who helped popularize health-consciousness, yoga, and organic food in the United States.

It's also the country where the Volkswagen Beetle and other cars to follow were invented.

I also enjoy listening to their music and other things about Germany as well.

Danke!! :) :)

I've noticed that you talk about Germany a lot. Are you from Germany, or are you just really interested in it? Do you have German heritage?

I was fortunate enough to vacation in Germany and Austria as a teenager with my family in the mid 1980's. I loved every minute of it. My paternal ancestors are from Germany. Such beautiful countries. Munich, Salzburg, everywhere we went was spotless. It was a wonderful experience.

I wonder if it's changed much?

Can't understand how it failed to get into the top 10.

Great song. One of my favorites from the synthpop 80’s. I really the video they produced for it with the “Repulsion” reference.

Propoganda was not as successful as they should have been because ZTT records spent most of their marketing money on Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

I was born in Germany.

Angelique Kerber is in the finals of Wimbledon. Right now, another German woman, Julia Georges, is playing against Serena Williams in the second semifinal.

Germany is a nice place.

The UK has an enormous amount of green, too.

The trains in Germany are so prompt!

I was conceived in West Germany. Both my parents were in the army there. I've always wanted to see Germany but haven't had the opportunity yet. My grandma on my mom's side is (I believe) first generation German American. There may be German through my grandpa on my mom's side too, but I think my only European genes from him are Scottish and french. Although my last name, which comes from my grandpa on my mom's side, is apparently rooted in Germany (but has clan affiliation in Scotland and may have come from there into the Cherokee).
My father is also of German descent. I think he stated it as Scandinavian via Germany. Trying to research his last name basically dead ends at rostock.

I'd like to get "made in West Germany" tattooed on me somewhere.
