Sorry but gravity won't allow them to stay on the wall without a means of support. Without such they will fall down.

I always thought that they were lined up on shelves, but the shelves are very narrow and something like a small earthquake makes them fall, one at a time.

I also used to hear a different line in the song that went "you take one down, pass it around", but it doesn't truly rhyme with "wall", and makes the singer sound like an even bigger beer guzzler.

On an episode of "Garfield and Friends", I once heard Garfield singing his own version of the song. It went something like "99 kettles of soup on the stove, 99 kettles of soup, if one of those kettles I happen to eat, 98 kettles of soup on the heat".

Then it should be called 99 bottles of beer on shelves.

I think the show Daria(but maybe it was Bevis & Butthead) they were singing 99 bottles of beer while taking a bus & the teacher said to change beer to something else like pee.

It's just not a catchy tune that way.......

Even for nost literal minded aspies "on the wall" is fine.

What about on the ceiling?

Two many syllables for the song.

And bars store beer on the wall, but never on the ceiling.

But if the subject upsets you that much then...

Why are free drinks said to be "on the house"?

They don't store the bottles on top of the roof do they?

So how can the drinks be "on the house"?

Warm beer doesn't thrill me.
It should be in the fridge.
