None. Empires owe their existence to conquest by genocide, slave labor, and the oppression of second-class citizens.

Empires are bad. That being said, I enjoy reading about the Ptolemaic Empire and the Library of Alexandria.

The Roman Empire did not do any of that except slave labor. The Roman Empire left their conquered people as is but they had to be in an alliance with Rome.

The Ottoman Empire. You have to admire a culture that values kicking back and resting your feet.

People of The Gin Dynasty were masters of alcoholic drinks, which also led to their downfall.

Wrong. Those cultures that would not be assimilated by the Roman Empire were destroyed (Siege and Fall of Jerusalem, 0070 A.D., for example).

Roman women were oppressed, in that:

• A Roman woman always belonged to her father's family, even after marriage.

• A Roman mother automatically lost her children to their father in the event of divorce.

• Roman women could not vote, hold office, or have their own names.

Thank you for correcting me. Did you know Sparta was the only place in Greece where women could be educated.

My favorite empire was the British Empire I say this because they were they helped a lot of countries, technological advances, fought against the French and Portuguese slave trade in the 1800's, Fought against the Nazis, and they outlawed widow burning. But I would say they did just as much good as they did bad. I would say the Viking Empire is really good to because they discovered America before Western Europe did and I think they kind of did more good than bad in my opinion.

Did you know that there were several times in Spartan history that this was simply not true? Did you also know that only Spartan men were allowed to vote? Did you also know that the Spartans practiced slavery, and that only women who were both free and 'elite' were even offered education? This means that the 'common' women were often uneducated, and certainly were not allowed to vote.

EVERY empire practices conquest by genocide, slave labor, and the oppression of second-class citizens.
