Toys R Us is going out of business. I was able to get myself some Playdough and a coloring book. I love Playdough as a stim toy but I love smelling too. Is it okay to sniff Playdough?

And has anyone gotten any cool toys from the clearance sales over there? Most of the toys I would have like to have gotten were already sold out but I am glad I was able to get what I got.

Hi Skibum, I'm sure Playdough is safe to sniff as much as you like, as long as it stays on the outside of your nose.

I love the smell of playdough. When I was a kid we only had plasticine, and that smells horrid!
If they have things on offer I think I’d go for as many different fidget spinners as I could afford :)

It's okay to smell playdough.

I got a bulbasaur plushy.

I bought myself a remote controlled Autobot Squeaks Transformers robot last December when I heard that Toys R Us is going out of business. I bought him because he reminds me of Schultz.

They have been having to the wall sales since at least March.

Playdough is just bread dough minus the yeast and with just enough water to make it pliant.

If it wasn't safe to sniff playdough, I'm sure they wouldn't sell it to infants.

https://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/play-doh1.htm

Play-Doh is composed mainly of water, salt, flour, a petroleum-based additive (to make it feel smooth), fragrance and borax (as an anti-fungal/mold inhibiting preservative). It does contain some wheat which may be an allergen to those with wheat allergies. It's not intended to be eaten and tastes very salty if you try (I tried once and still remember).

Smelling it isn't harmful though, so feel free.

We still have Toys R Us in Canada, but for how much longer I don't know. :(

And I'm about 90% sure Play-Doh is safe to smell, but don't eat it! Just because the label says it's non-toxic doesn't mean it's safe to eat, and it won't taste good, anyway.

I am glad it's is safe to smell. I am also glad to know that I am not the only one who likes the smell. :D
Sounds like you guys got some really cool toys. I love hearing about what kind of toys everyone likes. I love stuffed animals, coloring books, and stim toys.

I used to sniff playdough as a child it has a very distinct smell.

Toys R Us (shame we can’t mirror the R). I have a very sad memory of the adverts. I lived somewhere where there was no Toys R Us as a child and they used to show the adverts and it used to be very upsetting.

I wouldn't buy any of their stuff even if it is on sale, the company didn't even attempt to compensate the workers in any way. That is pretty crappy even if they are going out of business.

Toys 'я' Us ... Did it work?

Anyway, I remember the commercials too. They used to play the theme song advert inside the store too. Usually I think this is a little annoying when I'm already there, but I always liked the TRU song. It was a very fun place to visit at any age.

How did you mirror the R?

If you're using windows, the most reliable way is to select it from the character map.

Start-> Search "character map" (without quotes).
In the character map, using "Ariel" font, click "advanced view" checkbox.
Search for "Cyrillic capital letter Ya" or "Cyrillic small letter Ya"
Click it; The tile shows in a magnified view.
Then click "Select", then "Copy".

Now you can paste it into a comment box, field or text document. :)

Toys 'Я' Us (with a capital Ya and apostrophe on either side).
Toys 'я' Us (with a small Ya and apostrophe on either side).

Feel free to copy+paste it from my comment if you want too.
