I believe tea is the second most consumed liquid on the planet save for water.
I like a good cup of coffee like the next person and in fact it was one of my special interests (roasting my own beans, home espresso machine, etc). But I drink more tea each day than I do coffee.
I enjoy many different types of tea depending on my mood and what I have on hand: white, green, black and puerh. I fight with every fiber of my being not to correct people who classify tisanes in the same category with tea.
Puerh tea became one of my "special interests" (obsession). I devoted several years to learning as much as I could about all aspects of it including, of course, collecting and drinking it. Studying tea maps, talking with and purchasing from sellers in China, etc. It became a rather expensive hobby and it will take me quite a few years to drink it all up.
For black tea I brew 1 Tbsp of loose tea (usually Yorkshire Gold or PG Tips) and 2% milk per cup.
For green tea I buy organic in bulk and use my high powered Vitamix blender to pulverize the tea into a powder. Not as fine as a Matcha, but very close. Then I usually use a heaping 1/4 tsp per cup and just leave the sludge to settle on the bottom drinking the tea after it cools a bit. I'll consume the sludge, or not, depending on my mood.
I like tea!
