Uncomfort with motorcycle taxi

Hi. Everyday I hold my own helmet for passage with motorcycle taxi.
I wear my helmet when I sit behind the motorcycle taxi then they look at me like I'm weird or something that make me feel uncomfortable. Did you know why they look at me like that?

If the motorcycle taxis in Thailand are driven anyway like the motorcycle taxis in the Philippines, then I don't blame you one bit for wanting to wear a helmet and leathers.

They probably look askance at you because it may seem as if you are pre-judging them as bad drivers.
