Would any of you do this?

Imagine, just for a week, you walk out of your boring office job (OK, my job isn't boring), leave the world behind, hop on a freight train and just ride out wherever it takes you without a care in the world. As you travelled farther and farther away from civilisation, you'd develop a better understanding of the world. Of how little our individual lives are on the scale of this Mother Earth. You'd know what it'd feel like to really be free. To be human.

I haven't done it yet, but it's something that I would seriously consider doing at least once in my lifetime. How about you?

I would need a decent pillow to be comfy on a freight train.

I’d do it in my car, though.

I would. I'd definitely would.

Though there aren't any trains in my city, I'd do it with series of jeepney and bus rides. I'd definitely hop on a freight train if there's any.

at your age sure i did
needed a change, went south for the season, hitchhiking, got stuck in Lille, what on earth do there?
there happened to be a classic car rally, they kept driving by and waving and honking the horn, round and round
(catcalling you'd call it now) :mrgreen:

I ride public transportation frequently. After about an hour I grow tired and then think of how I am going to get back and how long it will take. On one occasion the driver misunderstood me and dropped me a mile out of my way. That was a tiring day.

I would be careful with freight trains. Sometimes they leave them in unihabitable middle of nowheres for weeks at a time and some are long enough that you would not have time to alert tge crew to your presence before they were picked up.

I don't like traveling & only do it when it's planned out cuz I like predictability

Closest I came
was years ago.

I went up the elevator
to my (then) bank job.

The elevator opened.
I couldn't go thru again.
I let the doors close
went down,
and never went back.
