A guy at work said to me, "if Y-E-S spells yes, what does E-Y-E-S spell?", and I thought about it then stupidly replied, "ee-yes". I knew it was one of those obvious trick questions, but I still couldn't think what the right answer was, so I asked and he said the right answer is "eyes". I was like, "of course!" I then decided to ask other people the same question and see if they guess it wrong, so I asked my boyfriend, my dad, my aunt, and an autistic friend, and they all replied "eyes", so got it right first time.

How come I replied with the wrong answer? Does it mean I lack some sort of logic?

Maybe you just don't think visually, and didn't see the letters on a page in your mind's eye.

But according to Tony Attwood it's an "autistic thing" to think visually. I think visually in some ways though, like if I'm listening to an audiobook I can picture the story in my mind like I'm watching a video. And when people describe an object I can see it in my mind. But this question seemed to throw me. I thought it was one of those questions like "what do you put into a toaster?" and most people answer as "toast" even though they know that bread goes into a toaster and comes out as toast.

You were probably just having a "blonde moment", so to speak.

Some people call them "brain farts".

That was gonna be me other suggestion. That you're over thinking it. And thinking that the person is making some kind of witticism so you try to head em off at the pass. Like the question "if they make tin whistles out of tin what do they make fog horns out of?".
