I think that it isn't unusual for at least some of our identity to depend on our clothes. We can find it very difficult to switch to a different manner of dressing.

It might help some if the switch to another manner of dressing is the result of a move and you are dressing more in the usual style of people where you moved. For example, if you moved to Hawaii, you would probably find it easier to start wearing shirts with Hawaiian designs every day.

How many of you find it difficult to imagine wearing anything other than what you usually wear? For example, how comfortable would you feel to start wearing suit and tie every day instead of a t-shirt and shorts? Or even just switching from a t-shirt and shorts to long sleeved shirts and levis?

A few years ago, my thyroid shut down and I've had a lot of problems with feeling cold ever since. It took me months to get used to wearing levis and a long sleeved shirt on a regular basis. I'm thinking of adding something like a western style sports jacket as well, even in the summer.

I dress according to my needs. Family party? Wear the white Oxford shirt.

But, if I am left to my own choices, I prefer easy and soft black T-shirt over denim pants and white cross trainers. People ask if I have a "closet full of the same old, same old." "Yep!" I reply.

When I used to wear bicycles a lot (3,000 to 5,000 miles every year) about 30 years ago, I would commonly wear a lightweight warmup suit over my riding attire. That was so much more comfortable that if I had to drive hundreds of miles in the winter, I'd wear gym shorts and t-shirt with warmups over them.

Most days at work back then, I could wear gym shorts and a warmup suit. Occasionally I would have to put on a suit and tie, but not often.

A sweatshirt and pants. That’s my go-to outfit hehe. Thankfully it’s starting to cool down around here so my favorite outfit is “appropriate” for the season again.

I can wear just about anything. But, it can be a challenge finding stuff small enough to properly fit me. Last thing I bought was an NFL logo tank top.

I can't imagine myself dressing any way else than I do now. I like a more feminine style. I can't imagine wearing Goth boots and Slayer t shirts. I don't even like Slayer.

I like what I wear and it nearly half kills me if I have to change to something that I feel is it out of my 'style' :( When I go out for a special ocassion I almost always wear my favourite white dress, but if it's too cold then I have to wear something else which upsets me.

I like wearing my dresses and my other soft clothes, anything too heavy or thick I don't like to wear. As we're coming in to winter a lot of my soft and thin clothes will have to go to the back of the wardrobe unfortunately

I tend to dress the same way almost all the time but half of it is due to sensory issues with the way things feel.

I dress purely for physical comfort so trekking type trousers, t-shirt and fleece. I don't see any point in changing my 'style' except for work or other occasions when convention demands it, such as a wedding. I find it very odd that society places such importance on the pieces of patterned (or plain) cloth that we choose to drape over our bodies.

I focus on function and go for practical clothes. I would love to help design outdoor clothing, the details make all the difference.

For this time of year I have a half dozen or so hoodies, thermal shirts and cargo pants in various colors. And that's what I wear each day.

When it gets cold enough I'll also wear a down vest or jacket. I also wear a knit cap or a baseball cap if it's raining.

One little change I made for this fall was having the sleeves cut off a couple of older hoodies. My mom says the sleeveless hoodie and baseball cap along with my beard makes me look like a truck driver haha.

Like many of you, I have my own style that works well for me. I was never one to embrace one single style. I always did what I enjoyed and what worked best for me.

For everyday clothing: Loose fit jeans, cargo pants, slim fit t-shirts (both long and short sleeve). I keep everything form fitting and scaled properly. Never super baggy, but just right for me. Hoodies and jackets (depending on situation).

For professional clothing: Loose fit/relaxed fit pants, classic style slim fit button down shirts. casual shoes.

I strive for a professional image at work, but wearing a dress is actually inappropriate in instances where I have to do a lot of bending and stretching. I feel most comfortable dressing up in public, but dress comfortably at home.

Well, I'm usually a cargo pants/jeans and button up shirt kind of person.
But occasionally I get the urge to put on a dress and totally confuse everyone, including myself.
My identity becomes a bit loose at times. :?
