Hey so I have to do an informative essay and corresponding speech in my communications class. The topic can be on anything of our choosing so long as we can back it up with actual research, but my professor wants us to try and choose a topic that most people are not going to know much about. I want something really cool and unique, but Im currently blanking on ideas. Help a girl out?

Lots of people don't know much about autism. It would increase autism awareness. You don't have to mention that you have it.

Generally when I come across a topic of interest to me, I dig into the topic in great depth and research it. I soon become a subject matter expert. So I would recommend something that interest you. Something that is fairly obscure.

Basically what someone else said above. Just go by what interests you.

What sorts of things interest you?

Go to the dictionary or encyclopedia, open it up somewhere, point to a word. Well, a useful word/phrase etc. Write about it.

I agree. Go by what you are passionate about.

Well …. the OP could do a paper about....paper itself. Lol!

How the ancients used parchment from animal hides to write on, and how the Chinese were the first to invent the alternative- and used pulverized wood to make actual paper, and so on.
