Did you continue trick-or-treating in your teenage years?

When I was a teenager I would still trick-or-treat on Halloween.

My last year doing it was at age 14. I printed out a map of the neighborhood and drew the route I would take. I went alone, so there were no distractions. I got so much candy. It was a worthy finale.

I never really went trick-R-treating. I lived on a major highway with no sidewalks & steep ditches next to the road. Noone really went trick-R-treating there. The most we would do would be going to the neighbors house.

I only went a few times as a child and never as a teenager. I did hear just this morning that there were several municipalities on the east coast that have passed laws making it illegal for anyone over the age of 13 to trick or treat there. The offense is a misdemeanor, punishable with a fine of either $50 or $100 and up to six months in jail.

I said to myself out loud: "A 14 year old could be sent to jail for that???"

The last time I went was when I was 18, though I was chaperoning a sibling's friend.

I didn't go as a small child, the first time I went was when I was about 11, but I went to Halloween parties before that.

I didn't really know trick-or-treating was just for little kids until when I was 14 I was complaining that nobody would go trick-or-treating with me and my mum was like, "you don't wanna go trick-or-treating now, that's for little kiddies."

I stopped last year, when I was 16 because I started feeling a little awkward. But my 20 year old sister still does it even now, then again she looks younger than 14.

In response to the places that made it illegal for teenagers to trick or treat, what do they think teenagers should be doing, drugs? Maybe egging their house?

I trick-or-treated until I was in my early 20's. I don't think it's fair that only kids are supposed to go out and get candy, but I guess then there wouldn't be enough adults to hand out the treats. :?

I don't get trick-or-treaters at my apartment anyway. No way I'm walking up and down the stairs all evening to hand it out. I probably wouldn't even hear them at my door. At least there's a Halloween dance every year that I get to go to.

In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Trick-or-Treating was an ordeal for me. First the costume choice, then my mother would take in or let out the costume according to perennial Utah weather in October ... allowing for a winter coat to fit beneath the costume (think "I can't put my arms down!" from A Christmas Story), and finally, the terrifying news media blaring the idea that "razor blades have been found in candy car and/or apples; go to your local hospital to have your candy X-rayed!" Add to all THAT, I was like any other autistic kid wanting to get out of the scratchy costume and back into my bedroom where I wouldn't be harassed or threatened by older kids.

I refused that ploy before the launch of Skylab.

The last time I went trick or treating was when I was 11. I handed out candy after that. I was taken by surprise that the kids at high school still went trick or treating when I was in Grade 8.

Eighth grade was the last year I went trick-or-treating and, even then, I felt I was way too old.

I have had Halloween related activities at work and Toastmasters. Last year, I dressed in a tennis outfit.
