Did you know that more people are killed by dogs than are killed by sharks and alligators combined?

It doesn't surprise me. More than a few people abuse dogs or train them to be aggressive(guard dogs)

Firearms make very useful dog-control weapons. I suspect that a disproportionate rate of autists are attacked by dogs.

I built an ultrasonic "Shrieker" that works effectively on my neighbor's dogs. I calculated that when fully charged, it puts out about 120dB within the 22kHz to 24kHz range.

Inventive! :D

If I remember my sciency teachings, humans can't hear above 20kHz, right?

Children may be able to perceive tones that high, but that perception usually drops off to frequencies below about 15kHz by adolescence, and continues to drop as we age.

I seem to remember (in the UK) a controversial remedy for adolescents hanging around shops in an undesirable way (???) It was a sonic device that emitted a high pitched sound that adolescent ne'er-do-wells found unpleasant. Unfortunately it also affected babies and nice kids.

A better remedy is to tune a radio to a local C&W or Christian station, and then pipe the music over a PA system.

Haha! Creative! Or, the hi-freq noise could simply be switched on/off.

People are gonna hate me for this, but owning a pit bull is like keeping a loaded machine gun with fur and fangs that could go off at any second.

I do feel bad for pits since it's not their fault that they're dangerous killing machines because stupid, selfish humans bred them to be that way for blood sport. But I really really REALLY don't want to be around them.

And yet all the time people go on about how eeeeeeevil cats are, that they're demonic and secretly plotting our murder and they hate us and all kinds of other nonsense. If my cats hate me, they're doing an excellent job of pretending the complete opposite.

What a horrible comment.

If you have a problem with a dog owned by people, mess with the people, not with the dog. This is just animal abuse. Who even does this... Wow...

Can't believe these type of comments are allowed. Feel that if this topic was about cats, it would be gone pretty quickly. As a blind dog owner, reading this topic is painful.

The other day I watched a comparison video of the world's most dangerous animals, and domestic dogs ranked number 4.

Humans ranked number two. I still have a hard time believing mosquitoes are more dangerous than humans. Like the video said, humans can and will kill anyone or anything they see, and even kill themselves. It's like if humans can something, they will. And our ability to feel bad or guilty about it clearly isn't helping much. :skull: But I'm going a bit OT, as usual.
