Have any of you all used a video game to escape from reality?

If so, which one?

I'll tell which one I used before I quit doing that.
Skyrim

Lord of the Rings Online, played daily for years. Lets me do things with my role play characters I can't do in real life because of my disabilities.

I haven't tried Skyrim yet, because like many autistics I refuse to break from my routine and try something new.

Every game I play is an escape from reality. The one that really caused a problem was Burnout Revenge , real life was pale and insignificant when I was addicted to this game.

I went through the entire "Descent" series in less than a month after a particularly traumatic experience.

I use video games to escape from reality all the time.

Currently I use the Yakuza games. I like feeling like I'm exploring a district of Tokyo where I get to fight street punks (without actually killing them) and eat at restaurants and play fun mini games like fishing and bowling etc.

Also even though I'm not into ladies there's something amusing to me about flirting with the hostesses at the cabaret clubs and seeing the ladies pole dance at the gentlemen's club. 8)

I regret to say that I became addicted to a game called "Letter Garden" where you find words. I thought I would go through all the levels within two weeks or so and be done, but I wound up playing the game for five months, past the point where I was sick of it. That was dumb and stopped me from doing more socially.

Me and my GF used to play Crash Bash on the PS1 for hours on end and it got to the point that it would cause fights ( she's a nutter  ) , after one bad fight over gaming techniques I decided that we would never fight over that game again so I took the disc and snapped it in front of her - a bit extreme but we never had a fight about that game again - mission accomplished

^ lol. I don't necessarily want to be Catwoman, I just want to beat things with a whip.

But anyways back to using video games to escape from reality, I also used to love Fallout 3.

I once made a female scientist character who was a lot like her father James being a good person who wanted to help the world. She was the type who did not kill unless she absolutely had to (I always made sure she escaped Vault 101 without killing any of the guards) and she would wear lab coats and her home was decorated in the Science Theme so that she could have her own research base. She also recruited Charon as a bodyguard and treated him better than his previous master did.

But then I also made a very evil femme fatal of a character who was seductive and charming and rotten to the core. She blew up Megaton and moved into Tenpenny Tower where she lived in a penthouse suite decorated in the Pre-War theme and she always wore clean pre-war dresses. She became a wasteland criminal and deadly assassin and slaver who would enslave and kill anybody for caps. She was also a cannibal and good friends with the residence of Andale who often exchanged recipes with her. :chef:
