I've been pretty introverted my whole life. I kept to myself a lot even with my own family.

have always been introverted, reserved, and wary around acquaintances and strangers. though, might be something of an ambivert... time alone mostly only ceases the feeling of being drained by social obligations any further. interacting with, and being able to confide in, a good friend enough is necessary to feeling restored.

I'm relatively outgoing but when it comes to energy – I use it to interact with people, I regain it when I'm alone. So, introverted.

I was painfully shy through my childhood and into adulthood. While I'm still an introvert, I am not shy in the least at the age of 56. I can be very gregarious, even aggressive, and have no fear of social interaction. But I don't need much of it.

When I was a kid I was pretty outgoing and wasn't afraid of strangers or unfamiliar places or anything. But when I was a teenager I became very withdrawn. At least at school, anyway. I wasn't allowed to be myself at school any more, so why wouldn't I have become that way? Suddenly all the things about me that people found admirable, or odd but harmless, became about the same as having the plague.

I was very shy for the majority of my childhood and my life. I had some occasional outgoing parts of my life as well.

Either... Leaning more to introversion.

Or neither -- it all depends on my mood.

i'm more expressive when i'm around people that i know. one guy said i have this kind of selective mutism; really quiet with strangers but really loud with friends.

"Cat got your tongue?" I wish I had gotten a dollar for every time I heard that when I was a kid, I'd be rich!

I've always been pretty shy and quiet as a general rule. I do however have times when I am, or rather can be pretty extroverted. I've noticed on those rare occasions I have startled those that have only known the usual me.

I'm fairly certain I'm an INTJ.
