An appropriate time to remember the man without whom we never would have had any of these spaceships in the first place.

double agent prince bernard (founder of bilderberg and wwf)
- the wtf of you don't want to know -
The Prince eventually went to work for the German chemical giant IG Farben in the early 1930s, then the world's fourth-largest company. (It survives today as BASF, AGFA, and Bayer). He joined the statistics department of IG Farben’s Berlin N.W. 7 department, the key Nazi overseas espionage center (known as VOWI) that evolved into the economic intelligence arm of the Wehrmacht.

That's a beautiful engraving. I like the old engraving styles on stamps much better than the modern artsy styles.

^ An excellent assortment -- thank you! Somewhere I have some of the Gold Star Mothers stamps. That image hasn't quite got the color right -- they are more of a golden yellow as I recall, not quite that harsh. It's a distinguished design.

Look close, and you'll see it's a pane of stamps.

There's nothing all that strange about this GB 1841 Penny Red-Brown, but it appears to have the quite scarce Norwich Maltese Cross cancellation. I bought it for just £1.23 on Ebay, and I reckon it's worth a fair bit more than that. :D

I really like this one for some reason. It feels like a messenger from a lost age.

Here's a whole catalog of this series: http://imperialchinastamps.com/Chinese_ ... l_Post.htm
