Have you ever been in a situation where you’re told you’re not grasping what the other person’s saying, and yet at the same time they’re not grasping what you’re saying?

"Talking Across Each-Other"? Yeah, lots of times. Even worse is when we're both arguing over who is right, and I suddenly realize that we're both saying the same thing, but in different ways.

couldn't win. the pattern followed me the rest of my life. so i clammed up and became a hermit.

It's on the National autistic society forums and is a thread about the use of IQ to categorise people on the spectrum and judge functioning levels.

The point where we,especially, part company is how prevalent it is for psychologists to use IQ as a primary means of judging a person's level of functioning .
