No, it's 'Fnord', which rhymes with 'snored' -- one syllable only.

Well, I've been thinking it's Eff-nord all this time.

Sometimes when I see Fnord on the screen, I read it as Ford and think of the car company (even though I know there is an n in the username). Also, coupled with the avatar I imagine an anthropomorphic lizard driving a car.

Hmm, I don't really have any nicknames for members aside from sometimes shortening the usernames, but I do have certain associations.

TW1ZTY - Mr Effusive
Istomin - Mrs Sporty
Red - Mr World-weary
Goat - Mr Meek
CockneyRebel - Mr Cheeky
Pepe - Mrs Righteous
Isabella - Mrs Bookworm
Trueno - Mr Wise
Darmok - Mr Conservative
Fnord - Mr Assured
Ferris - Mr Irreverent
Ezra - Mr Cerebral

Isabella is the only one who gets a noun; "bookworm-like" doesn't sound quite right.

Hope I don't cause any offence to anyone; if you got a nickname at all, it's because I have some affection for you.

How would you like to be called "mundane"?

I'm not taking that as an insult; but it doesn't exactly put me in a very good light....

I think of myself as "judicious with my words," rather than "mundane."

Far from being an insult, it was intended as a compliment; you're the only member on this site entirely without pretensions.

I've removed the offending item. My apologies.

You didn't have to remove it.

I thank you for the compliment.

The word "mundane" really has rather negative connotations, though.

I think it's virtuous. I'm a firm believer in Aristotle's conception of the "Golden Mean" and envy people, like you, who practice it.

I guess that the person who called you t"mundane" meant that you were "calm", or "grounded".

So..lets call you "the ground wire". :D

Prometheus is cool.

I don't think he meant any harm.

I feel like he's a good man at heart.

It's more like I felt self-conscious of myself----that I better "up" my game.....
