I am straight, however I can't remember when I decided to be attracted to the opposite sex, it seems like it just happened. Why is this?

You don't decide who you are attracted to - biology does

Have you ever tried just not being straight?

Tbh I feel sorry for all monosexuals and even more sorry for asexuals that probably ties into the bis are greedy stereotype haha. But imagine looking at someone and because of their sex you know you couldn't even though you know they're attractive...

As a demisexual, I can tell you - no desire, no frustration. The life is easier at least in this dimension.

I never had a gay fantasy, I've tried some gay sex but it wasn't at all exciting.

I am surprised that no one called me out on this! It's one of the most asinine questions you can ask of anybody -- "Have you ever just tried to not be what you are any more?" has been spoken to many (if not all) of the people of the LGBTQ community. The irony of it is that the person speaking it is only displaying his or her ignorance and lack of understanding as to what being something is really all about, and it is not as simple as putting on another mask or changing one's clothes.

Being LGBTQ is not like being fat. It's like having a certain skin color. Being fat is something that someone can try to change with effort like exercising and eating less. Being LGBTQ can't be changed anymore than someone can change their skin color.

I think it's a bit more complicated than that. I think environmental circumstances & sexual experiences can shape sexuality as well. Sexuality is kinda a spectrum & few people are completely gay or completely straight. Also people can chose to have a relationship or sex with someone that goes against their sexuality. For example some gay people chose to be with people of the opposite sex(probably more so in the older days when homosexuality wasn't as accepted) & some straight people chose to be with members of the same sex. I'm straight but I seriously considered having a gay relationship cuz I HATED being single & gay guys were the only people interested in me. I decided against it before I got in one after I realized that they the gay guys interested in me were primarily wanting sex & a relationship was secondary to them.
