The higher the rollercoaster the more I love it. High, fast and upside down. But my ears do not like this at all. No matter what pills I take for vertigo, or whether I wear wristbands, I still get extremely dizzy whilst on a rollercoaster and when coming off. So instead of giving me thrill and enjoyment, it gives me panic. Not only that, but the g-force is the real scary bit. I feel restricted in the safety thing that's put over you in the seat, even though it's obviously there for a good reason of course, but it pushes down on my stomach (I have a rather bloated stomach, it's gene-related). And as the rollercoaster goes upside down, I automatically stiffen up like I'm holding on for dear life - even though I'm very securely strapped to the seat. I think it's another g-force thing, where your body thinks you're floating in mid-air and so you automatically hold all your muscles tight to stay in your place. That's when the dizziness sets in for me.
Also as I'm going fast down a vertical drop (yes, literally vertical) on a rollercoaster, I lose my ability to breathe and I feel my lungs clenching up really tightly. So I come off the ride still kind of gasping for breath and feeling like I've just drank strong alcohol on an empty stomach.

I love them and I have no fear, regardless of whether they are steep or upside down, etc. I don't recall having any major issues with vertigo afterward. I haven't been on one since my stroke four years ago, so I don't know how I'd do with vertigo now ... but I'd still be willing to try.

The only rides I can't tolerate are ferris wheels (fear) and rides that spin in fast circles.

I haven't been on anything very intense because I can't even handle the less-intense ones that don't turn you upside down or have vertical drops or anything. I don't get vertigo that I recall, but I am afraid of heights and hate the feeling of going downward fast. Roller coasters turn me into a shaking, sobbing mess. I can't handle spinning rides either, so I don't even bother going to amusement parks anymore.

I have a phobia of getting on them. But if I take anti-anxiety med it goes away and I can't get enough.

I like it. I've been liking extreme and intense rides since I've long to ride one and had first ridden one as a child.

I just like sensing the gravity and momentum that comes along with riding it. The view of heights and crazy angles is also another. The anxious buzz, the element of risk... I just like it.

It's been a long while since I've ever ridden one.

Roller coasters are THE reason why I go to amusement parks. The fearless warrior in me unleashes when I’m at this one place 2 hours away that I usually go to once every summer.

Love them...for the most part. The really extreme ones with things like completely vertical drops scare me.

No. They make me dizzier than an average person due to my disability, not to mention I have doctor's orders to not go to ones that would make me go upside down.

In theory I love them but in practice... Even the tamer ones are too much for me. My balance and co-ordination etc get all messed up for hours after, which means I have hours to wait before I can go home. I have not been able to really afford to go to such places these days as though I have the money at the moment, if I payed out to enter such places, I would not be able to ride many rides and replacing the money that I had spent would not be so easy.
The last time I went was about a decade ago whe I was talked i to going by my brother, as he needed a lift with his then GF and others to get there. Oh. It was rather amusing. The theme park... It had this big thing to ride in which went up high, and came down to splash in some water. This guy who came with us... I didn't go on most of the rides. I just watched. But they came down the steep slope and he shouted AHHHH! as he came down... And when he got off the ride he looked different. He lost his false teeth. We didn't know he was wearing any! The people on the ride did look but they were never found.
While we were at the theme park I had to run to stop a ride. It was a lucky thing I did. When the roller coaster had passed I heard a loud bang. Two big bolts snapped and fell to the ground not far from where I and another man was standing. I just managed to get them to stop the ride in time. The track have completely come apart and the coaster would have plummeted to the ground.
What annoyed me was that an hour later after stopping the ride, they had it back running again. If that had been on the railways a great many checks and enquiries would have been made before the line would be allowed to reopen. But there... It was concerning as if I had not stopped the ride they would have been seriously hurt or even killed.
