A bit of trivia...

The term "Babu Ji" is a Hindi phrase used to show a sign of respect to your male elders (i.e., Grandfather, Father, Government Employee, et cetera) and used at the start of every greeting to them.  In India, a Babu Ji is often that self-appointed "Neighborhood Ambassador" who knows everyone and everything that's happening in the village.  New Yorkers might call him the "Mayor of the Block".  In Chicago, he might be called the "Block Captain".
