What's wrong with them! Do they undergo some sort of hormonal transformation after giving birth? Why do they take HOURS to get ready, even when going to the supermarket!!?

I've been wondering the same thing. I am able to get dressed and ready in under a minute (Ok, I'm a guy - but still), yet my mom somehow requires 20 minutes. I can understand the hair and makeup thing, but still, why does it take THAT long?!

well I get ready quicker than my mum and my children yet I wear vast quatites of make up and they wear none. A thing to note is that it will take longer to look presentable the older you are as you have more wrinkles to cover and sag to squash away.

It takes me 20 minutes to get ready even with make-up, if I have to shower it'll take longer to dry my hair and all that. My mom takes over an hour to get ready just to go grocery shopping. D:
Mine too!
She has to wash her hair, fill it with products, style it, do her eye makeup, lips, skin... She puts on SO much! JUST to go to the store, even. And then she has to change her outfits. It usually takes an hour if I'm lucky.
AND SHE APPLIES BODY SPARKLES.
I'm a girl, but I can at least get ready in like, 5 minutes.

I know right? Maybe it's the college student in me but getting dolled up everyday seems a bit excessive. XD

I agree wholeheartedly. I am fine going weeks without makeup.
Besides, if you wear so much every day, then like... That fake face becomes your real face. Does that make sense? And I don't think I'd ever want to view my natural face as lesser. XD

If I'm going out, I'll put on mascara and lipgloss as a minimum to keep my mom happy. She tends to be a bit critical of how I look if I'm going to be with her in public. It's like she's embarrassed about my natural face. Sure, if I have a nasty zit or something I'll put on something to cover it up but normally, I wouldn't bother. D:

Sounds like your mum might have a thing about perfection and to look perfect to why she is taking literally hours to get ready.
Alot of females in the UK take about an hour to put make up on.

My mum takes her time getting ready.
What really bothers me is my younger sister, she claims she doesnt need much time for getting ready so she is the last one to start getting ready, once we are all done she needs at least 10 more minutes and afterwards she will start complaining about how everyone was rushing her.

ROFLMAO. That's great. I'm just imagining the return process in my head and it's glorious. Maybe I can write a script about it and use it for my drama-writing class. XD

Oh my goodness! That's awful. Why would she be like that? XD So irrational.
She's obsessed with appearance. It might be one of the sources of my self-esteem problems. I'm working through it though. I feel good today and I'm not wearing any make-up at all.
I take forever because I have two toddlers to get ready and keep clean while still getting myself ready... and keeping the toddlers from getting me dirty.
