When I was on SSI I cashed all the checks I got that weren't earned from working. I don't know where you could deposit them without the gov finding out.
I do go to the bank to deposit them, I cash it out first then put it in my account, so the SSI won’t find out. I’m having alot of problems in my feet. I’m trying to get better.
They still may find out that your putting money into your account if they were to check the bank records. They may not do that but I wanted to make it as hard as possible for SSI to find out I was getting money from sources other than them & employment. Most all the extra money I got was from things like birthdays & Christmas, things like rebate checks, & from doing little tasks online to get alittle extra money. SSI required me to have less than two thousand in my account at the end of each month so i saved some of the cash & used my SSI money to buy things on & offline. I used the cash to buy things offline when my bank account started to get low.
I'm sorry your feet are bothering you. I hope you get better fast without too much extra work or pain.
I used to save money too, I used to put it in my dresser drawer, I don’t do it anymore. There is a private bank for disabled people, I told you before, but I cannot deposit checks in there. Maybe I can mail checks to them.
