Hi my name is Will I'm 17 years old and I have aspergers syndrome and I have a question. Now I know smoking cigerettes and cigars are bad for your health it causes throat and lung cancer but what about electronic cigerettes and water vape, I've known people who vape and they say its not bad for you but my mom (who is a nurse) say its just as bad as smoking real tobacco but I have a hard time believing it because how can smoking water vape be bad for you, now I ask you the wrong planet community, is smoking vape bad for you and can it give you cancer?

With smoking, you're inhaling poisons produced during the slow combustion of chemically-treated tobacco, which increases the risk of lung cancer and heart disease, even in nonsmokers.

With "vaping", you're inhaling poisons produced during the sudden heating of chemically-treated glycerin, which may contain toxic Diethylene Glycol (an ingredient in anti-freeze).

The symptoms of Diethylene Glycol poisoning typically occur in three characteristic intervals:

First phase: Gastrointestinal symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, develop. Some patients may develop early neurological symptoms like altered mental status, central nervous system depression, coma and mild hypotension.

Second phase: In one to three days after ingestion (and dependent on dose ingested), patients develop metabolic acidosis, which causes acute kidney failure, oliguria, increasing serum creatinine concentrations, and later anuria. Other symptoms reported and secondary to acidosis and/or renal failure are: hypertension, tachycardia, cardiac dysrhythmia, pancreatitis, hyperkalemia or mild hyponatremia.

Final phase: At least five to 10 days after ingestion, most of the symptoms are related to neurological complications, such as: progressive lethargy, facial paralysis, dysphonia, dilated and nonreactive pupils, quadriplegia, and coma leading to death.

Is "vaping" bad for your health? Most likely, yes.

Will the people selling "vaping" oils and devices to kids tell you this? Most likely, no.

You're still using nicotine, which isn't exactly good for your health.

Also, I recently read a headline stating that Vaping may in fact be many times more carcinogenic than cigarettes due to the VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds) that you're inhaling. We've made a move to get rid of them from various cosmetics, cleaning products, and paint.. and to wear masks/respirators when working with them, but now people are heating them up and sucking them straight into their lungs. No bueno.

There's no such thing as something for nothing.. and if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. I bet these things are just as bad, or worse, for you than cigarettes - just in a different way than the chemicals added to cigarettes.

Really, if people must smoke.. smoke weed. Or if you must smoke tobacco or use nicotine, smoke natural tobacco - in moderation. Some of the plain vapes MIGHT be ok if all it is made of is nicotine and water, though. Otherwise, just know that if you're using this flavoured stuff that it's likely NOT healthy for you at all.

Perhaps it's not as bad but it is still harmful to your health.

I don't think vaping is worse than smoking regular cigarettes.
I vape now and feel myself much better than when I smoked.
I can control the dose of nicotine I consume. I usually choose my vaping pens, cartridges etc on .
Maybe you have some recommendations. I'm open to everything new. Have a nice day.

Yes, of course it is. Smoking anything is bad for you, even having too much air in your lungs is dangerous. Basically if you're using anything like a cigarette, vaping or you've drilled and breathed in something toxic then it's going to be hazardous to your health and lungs. I've seen lungs that were of a smoker and the damage is unbelievable.
But I think it's luck of the draw anyway. Some smokers die really young others live until their 80. Life is a game of luck.

You're asking is intentionally inhaling untested and unknown chemical fumes bad for your health?

Lungs are designed to breathe oxygen, not toxic chemicals.

At very least, you could burn your lips, which hurts like crazy-and that's for starters.

According to the anti-vaping commercials I see all the time on TV, Safer Doesn't Equal Safe but those commercials do NOT explain why it's not safe. I just hear a damned annoying foghorn interrupting a puppet. at least the anti-smoking commercials explain some of why smoking is bad.

you're still getting as much nicotine as a pack of cigarettes.

flavored cartridges contain nasty chemicals just like cigarettes. different chemicals indubitably, but still nothing that your lungs were meant to deal with in any large amount.

Vaping is definitely better than smoking in your case. Tobacco consists of more than 7000 different chemicals, it's side effects are awful. Vape devices are very different, some were designed for dry herbs only ( [url=https:/[/url] ), some are used with essential oils or waxes, which are absolutely safe.

There aren't really enough studies to know what all the long term effects of vaping could be. In my opinion its better than cigarettes. I vape but I started smoking cigarettes as a teen so the reason I've started is to stop smoking. I mean its possible vaping does some damage...did see a video where a dentist was saying its not great for oral health, probably not as bad as smoking though.

I would not say it is good for health, but smoking actual cigarettes is much worse than vaping.

I don't smoke or vape at all but my friend told me his father would call me a "pothead" for my demeanor and my stepfather thinks "dope" is bad. Ironically, both are retired military.
