The holidays are officially in full swing after Thanksgiving.

It would be refreshing to have those "same-old same-old" holidays every year - to feel somewhat
different this year. Hence, opportunities to experience the holidays from novel (yet familiar, often overlooked) perspectives. Those clever commentaries on the holidays are good places to start. LINK includes a commentary.

How many here want to experience the holidays from.......novel (yet familiar, often overlooked) perspectives?

Like everything else, it's best to avoid taking anything (including the holidays) for granted!

Apart from the odd day out and coming back the next day sort of thing, and day outings now and then... I could do with a longer holiday. An adventure. Not been able to have what I call a proper holiday foe many years.
But the day outs are nice. Had lots of them instead. Ok. I may not go too far... Maybe 30 to 150 miles. But they are needed as a de-stressing break.

Personally, It's a "badge of honor of sorts" that I've learned to ignore all of the holiday related propaganda" and "counting my blessings so to speak!"

In just few short days, all of the holiday bruhaha comes to an abrupt end - hence that (brief) feeling of, "what happened?"

UPDATE: Personally, I'm treating Christmas Eve, and Christmas similar to how I've pretty-much treated this holiday season. As I finish wrapping gifts, I anticipate the thank-yous from those who will receive my gifts, as well as anticipating the thanks I will give for gifts I will receive.
