Why is it that when you're at the beach swimming and it starts to rain, everyone gets up and leaves?

I'm not sure, but maybe people would prefer to wallow around in the same muck that fish eat, defecate, fornicate, spawn and die in than risk being struck by naturally-distilled water from the sky.

Sometimes when it rains it also brings on a lightning storm which can be dangerous.

Beach rules: Water and the beach will be cleared when lightning is visible or thunder is heard.

I would probably leave because it would get my towel and any other items I'd brought wet, and there might be a chance of lightning.

If its warm enough to be at the beach in swimsuits, then its likely warm enough for a thunderstorm.

Sometimes the temperature can cool down when it starts to rain (in UK summers).

Many people think that just because it is raining it means the tide will come in.

It's not fun to relax on the beach when it's raining.
